For my Public Domain Book project, we were instructed to design the book sleeve, and four illustration images, and organize the book layout of the text. The public domain book I decided to design was Ulysses, I chose this book because I liked how simple and unique the name was, and even though I never read the book it would interesting to design for as most of the covers are relatively bland and just a plain color and title plain and center.
For my book illustrations, I was mainly looking to focus on some themes and emotions that the book seems to talk about, I interpreted it as searching for the truth, inevitable sadness, required heartbreak, and the search for purpose. My aim was to design them in a simple and what I thought was Bauhaus style (it didn't turn out as I thought).
